Dr Bob Thistlethwaite has over 45 years’ experience in both public and private sectors, in Australia and the Asia-Pacific in forestry, environment, and agriculture sectors. He is a professional forestry graduate of the Australian Forestry School in Canberra, with post-graduate qualifications in forestry (ANU) and hydrology (UNSW). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Foresters of Australia and for six years was a Director of the IFA Board and Chairman of the Queensland Division of the Institute. He is a Registered Professional Forester (No 68). His experience in the agriculture sector led to his award of Leading Professional Level 3 (the highest level) by the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and the status of Certified Practising Agriculturalist Level 3.

Bob had 25 years’ experience within Australian Federal, Northern Territory and PNG Government public services to senior executive level. His forestry experience has been in eucalypt, acacia, araucaria, pine, teak, leucaena and paulownia plantations, and in hardwood and rainforest silviculture and management in Australia and Melanesia.

He is a former natural resources adviser to the Pacific Regional Team of AusAID (Dept. of Foreign Affairs & Trade) delivering financial, development and technical assistance to 9 Pacific countries. He has extensive experience with strategic planning and programming for the forestry and environmental sectors in the Pacific basin, including the drafting of national forest policies for Vanuatu (1996) and Fiji (2004).

Peter Rowe has over 35 years experience establishing and successfully managing businesses.
For the past 10 years he has been one of Australia’s foremost Business Improvement Specialists using his experience in coaching, mentoring and training public corporate and private business clients across every quarter of the business arena, to develop the Diploma of Business Coaching, Australia’s only nationally-accredited and government-sanctioned qualification in the Business Coaching industry.

Peter holds a Diploma of Technical Education, a Certificate of Commercial Education (CESA); is a member of the Australian Institute of Management Consultants; an Accredited Business Improvement SpecialistTM a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Master Coach NLP and Master of Neurological Repatterning; and an SME Coach (Superior Level) of the Australian Institute of Executive Coaching.

Peter’s years of business experience include the vehicle service industry; designing and manufacturing fitness and health equipment; 10 years developing and marketing award-winning whole-of-enterprise software; developing and launching a franchise system; and the design and delivery of wide-ranging business improvement systems.

In his latest book, “Solving the People Puzzle”, Peter shares clear practical solutions to the recurrent business challenges of attracting, inducting and developing “the right people” to build a truly great enterprise, and he brings that skillset to bear in the direction and management of PolyGenomX.

John’s background as an Accountant and Finance Director for a number of public and private companies across Australia and New Zealand has seen him fill the roles of Public Company Director, Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer. As such he has managed all aspects of compliance and governance within the bounds of regulatory bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).

John is experienced in all facets of accounting, due diligence, Board reporting, financial analysis, asset management, financial management, cashflow management and forecasting.

Dr David Rowe

Dr David Rowe combines over 15 years of technical, research and commercial experience in the sectors of defence, information technology, cleantech and biotech.

David’s background includes responsibility for investment opportunity analysis and modelling with one of Australia’s premier venture capital seed funders focussed on commercialising research and development from three of Australia’s largest Universities. In those roles he is active in management and the oversight of investee companies including active board representation.

David has previously worked within Microsoft’s pan-European Management Team for 6 years driving strategic solution and business development opportunities with significant regional partners, customers and influencers. As Director of the Emerging Business Team, David led regional strategy, marketing and engagement with a focus on leading venture capitalists and high-potential, VC-backed start-ups.

David has also worked as an Investment Manager within the venture capital arm of the Transocean Group, a boutique Australian investment bank with a global presence. Prior to that, as a Senior Research Consultant at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) David led systems engineering and architecture consulting contracts with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) and Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO).

David holds a PhD in Computer Systems Architecting and a Bachelor of Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney, graduating with the University Medal. David is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and is currently pursuing a Masters of Applied Finance (Macquarie).

Robert (Bob) Ritchie

Bob Ritchie has been a Chartered Accountant since 1977 and has enjoyed a rich history which includes positions as Finance Manager of a large public company; and Consultant to a number of medium sized businesses as Financial Controller, taking three of those clients successfully through the process of sale to Public Listed Companies.

He has held senior Executive Management roles with iconic public companies (taking one through the process of merger with the Commonwealth Bank); and has been a respected partner within a progressive team practice.

Bob is deeply respected by his colleagues, his clientelle and by the PolyGenomX Board for his conservative risk-aware approach to all matters of compliance and record keeping and for his deep integrity.

He brings hard-won expertise and wide experience to the asset management and financial control aspects of our enterprise.
